Being Vegetarian is Thrifty!

October 25, 2010

Ok, so after a day of travel, a day of work, making Serafina’s ladybug costume (pictures to come), and unpacking, I was not in the mood to cook something interesting tonight. We had a pretty basic standby of Annie’s macaroni and cheese with sliced grape tomatoes and peas. However, I do offer this article for you on saving money while cooking at home. The number one way to save money? Cook vegetarian. The article highlights seven ways to save almost $3,000 a year in grocery costs. They replaced meat with tofu, but I would even argue that you don’t need to eat tofu every week, so there could be even more savings! A bonus? The article has a link that also lists 27 vegetarian recipes in honor of Meatless Monday.
