Take the steam out of NYC, vote for your favorite chef…

October 21, 2010

The truth is, I have eaten food all over this country and this world, and I am not convinced that NYC should remain an unquestioned authority in food. Why? Because there is more to food than one city. The continued prominence of one region creates culinary monotony. Although I have visited that city numerous times, I never think the food is better than a simple meal in Paris, a random vegetarian restaurant in Amsterdam, stone pizza baked on a farm in Vermont, or most importantly local food served at the house that Cathal Armstrong built in Alexandria. His restaurants make me proud to be an Alexandrian and an Irish citizen!

So, use your voice and vote for the restaurant YOU love, and don’t let the NYC dominant food conversation continue. Delicious, well-cooked food exists everywhere. The James Beard Foundation is the authority in food, and they have an annual award. So sign in, vote here for the best new chefs-— and a plus if you vote for a vegetarian chef!
